Maxim Integrated Products introduces the DS7505 ±0.5°C accurate, digital temperature sensor and thermostat with nonvolatile memory (EEPROM). The integration of nonvolatile EEPROM enables this device to power-up with a user-defined configuration and thermostat thresholds, whereas other similar devices store threshold and configuration data in volatile memory and, therefore, can only power-up in the factory-defined state. Software and pin compatible with the industry-standard LM75 and Maxim's DS75, the DS7505 is ideal for applications that require high-accuracy temperature sensing, such as base-station, telecom, networking, and medical systems. |
STMicroelectronics Extends Serial EEPROM Range with 1MHz Devices in Densities up to 1 Mbit

STMicroelectronics, a leader in non-volatile memory technology, has introduced 1MHz two-wire serial EEPROMs in 256-Kbit, 512-Kbit and 1-Mbit densities, compatible with I2C Fast-Mode-Plus allowing data rates up to 2.5-times faster than the I2C Fast-mode. Operating at 1MHz, the M24M01-HR is able to complete a 1-Mbit data transaction in 1 second; the 256-Kbit M24256-BHR in a quarter of a second; and the 512-Kbit M24512-HR in half a second. |

CHANDLER, Ariz., May 5, 2008 [NASDAQ: MCHP] Microchip Technology Inc., a leading provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, today announced a new 10-member family of serial EEPROM devices with a single I/O bus interface. The devices are based upon Microchip's patented UNI/O memory-device protocol (refer to USPTO patent number 7,376,020; to be issued on May 20, 2008). The 11XX010, 11XX020, 11XX040, 11XX080 and 11XX160 are the first single I/O EEPROM devices that can support any data rate from 10 kHz to 100 kHz; and the only 1 Kbit, 2 Kbit, 4 Kbit, 8 Kbit and 16 Kbit EEPROMs available in a 3-pin SOT-23 package (in addition to other higher pin count packages). |
