Vishay Intertechnology, Inc.introduced the new VSMP0603 ultra-high-precision Bulk Metal Z-Foil (BMZF) wraparound surface-mount resistor. The device is the industry’s first in the 0603 chip size to offer a military-grade absolute TCR of ±0.2 ppm/°C from −55 °C to +125 °C, +25 °C ref., a tolerance of ±0.01 %, and an almost immeasurable 1-ns rise time without ringing. While typical 0603 resistors offer a load-life stability of ≥0.1 % through a 1000-hour workload, Vishay’s new device features an improved load-life stability of ±0.005 % at +70 °C for 2000 hours at rated power. |
Industry's First Dual, 2-wire Hall-Effect Sensor Interface Solution Improves Reliability and Saves Cost in Automotive Applicatio

Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX9921 dual, 2-wire Hall-effect sensor interface IC. This single-chip solution supplies and monitors the current drawn by two Hall-effect sensors, filters the sensed-current level, and outputs the corresponding logic level. The MAX9921 reduces interconnect cost by allowing the Hall-effect sensor to be grounded locally, which eliminates the need for an additional wire. To further reduce solution cost and save space, it replaces multiple discrete components and enhances performance with features such as input diagnostics and fault protection. |
