Outstanding attenuation for long motor leads

Teaser__LG,property=Data__en.jpg

EPCOS has extended its 3-line EMC filters by a high-performance series for frequency converters. It is distinguished by outstanding attenuation properties that offer decisive advantages especially with long motor leads. Cable-based measurements of commercial frequency converters showed that the EN 55011 limits were observed for class A up to 300 m and class B up to 200 m as well as for class C2 up to 300 m and class C1 up to 200 m as specified by EN 61800-3.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) are critical concerns for developers designing in noisy environments that contain numerous electrical components in close proximity. To address this design challenge, Freescale Semiconductor has introduced a scalable microcontroller (MCU) family designed to help engineers cut through the noise in large appliance and industrial applications.

The successful SineFormerTM series of EMC output filters has been extended by a range designed for applications up to a rated voltage of 760 V. The new B84143V*R290 spectrum of filters is available in current stages of 95 A,180 A and 320 A. Depending on their type, they are operated at clock frequencies from 2.5 kHz. Versions for 600 A and 1000 A are in preparation.

Never again shielded cables

The SineFormer%u2122 from EPCOS is an output filter that is easy on the motor and makes shielded motor cables superfluous. It allows costs to be reduced while improving performance.

Asynchronous motors must often be operated at continuously variable speeds. Pulse-width modulated frequency converters with an unregulated input rectifier shape the DC voltage from the DC link circuit to an output voltage by using suitable driving of the semiconductors (usually IGBTs)
