Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX13448E ±80V fault-protected, full-duplex RS-485 transceiver. Capable of withstanding shorts up to ±80V on the RS-485 interface pins, this device eliminates the need for external fault-protection circuitry, typically polyswitch limiters and zener diodes. The transceiver prevents data from being transmitted during a fault condition, and then resumes normal operation after the fault condition has been removed. |
