RGB LED Pixel Drivers for High-Brightness, High-Visual Impact Architectural Lighting

ON Semiconductor has expanded its line of constant-current, LDD(low dropout driver) products recently acquired from Catalyst Semiconductor, to include two new high-brightness RGB LED pixel drivers. The CAT4103 and CAT4109 are three-channel, linear-based constant-current LED drivers for RGB LED pixel control in emerging high-brightness, high-visual impact LED architectural lighting.

By providing 24 constant-current outputs capable of driving RGB LEDs at up to 80mA, the STP24DP05 from a world leader in analog, STMicroelectronics, performs the work of three conventional 8-output drivers within a compact TQFP48, 7 x 7mm footprint. Using this device to drive video displays and signage comprising large numbers of high-brightness LEDs saves bill-of-materials costs compared to conventional devices with fewer outputs.
