Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX2170E/W RF tuner for triple-band, dual-mode mobile TV and digital radio in a fully RF-tested die. Building on the success of the TQFN-packaged MAX2170ETL, the MAX2170E/W supports implementation of system-in-package (SIP) solutions for terrestrial digital multimedia broadcast (T-DMB) and ultra-small, digital audio broadcast (DAB) modules. By using RF-tested dice, this tuner provides significant cost reduction through higher module yield, making it ideal for fixed or mobile DAB and T-DMB applications. |

This device receives QPSK signals in the 470MHz to 1000MHz range and downconverts them to baseband for demodulation. Specifically designed for China's UHF-band MMDS systems, the MAX2117 is compatible with most DVB-S demodulators. |

SUNNYVALE, CA January 3, 2008 4Maxim Integrated Products (Pink Sheets: MXIM) introduces the MAX3540 highly integrated, single-conversion television tuner for ATSC and NTSC applications. This device meets the sensitivity and adjacent-channel guidelines specified by ATSC Recommended Practice A/74, while consuming only 760mW. To achieve this RF performance, the tuner integrates a tracking filter and high-linearity front-end. Additionally, it reduces power consumption by eliminating the second frequency conversion used in many other silicon tuners. Because it is a single-conversion tuner, the MAX3540 requires only a single SAW filter. |
